St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church Sign PowerPoint

St. Peter’s Signage Slide Deck

St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist church is based out of Decatur, AL, and prides itself as a place where a sinner can meet God and a stranger can meet a friend. To improve their street appeal and drive to bring more people in the door, the church replaced its standard marquee signage with a 4’ x 8’ LED screen. St. Peter’s MBC approached me to help them create a 30-50 deck of PowerPoint slides that could be easily used by the church staff throughout the year and retain a professional appearance.

What I Did

  • To start, I worked with SPMBC to develop a spreadsheet of all the slides we thought they might want or need throughout the year. At its core, this list was composed of local and federal holidays, special events the church has planned, and potential future events they might have. This spreadsheet was made to be easily interactable so that for any slides I had questions about, the church staff were able to provide feedback as well as view the status of any slide in production.

  • After all holidays, events, and potential church functions were covered, I added general use slides for the church’s service hours, seasonal bible-verse templates, and we ended with a total of 77 slides in the deck.

  • Because the slides would need to be adjusted by church members, I focused the designs on simplicity, readability, with consideration of the sign size, and simplified what I could. Using Google Slides and the web fonts provided, I created a comprehensive deck filled with over a year’s worth of slides that the church could easily revise, customize, and even pull down to use within PowerPoint.

The Outcome

The executive leadership for St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church was appreciative of the work completed, as the slides were developed to be what they wanted and looked great on the sign.
